Tips To Get In The Christmas Spirit

Getting in the Christmas spirit isn't always easy if you're stressed. Work, exams, deadlines, whatever it may be, you might be struggling to get in the festive mood. I've put together different things to get you into the Christmas Spirit and my specific go to's.

1. Overdose on Christmas Movies

- Elf
- The Grinch
- Love Actually
- The Holiday
- Home Alone
- Jingle All The Way
- The Nightmare Before Christmas

2. Christmas-ify Your Home

- Get some Christmas scented candles, 'Christmas Cookie' from Yankee Candle is a personal favourite
- Put up the Christmas Tree
- Put fairy lights up anywhere and everywhere
- Bake some festive snacks... If you can't bake just buy them and pretend you did

3. Blast the Christmas Songs

- Mariah Carey: All I want for Christmas Is You
- The  Pogues & Kirsty McColl: Fairytale of Newyork
- Wham!: Last Christmas
- East 17: Stay Another Day
- John Lennon & Yono Oko: Happy Xmas (War is Over)

4. Get out and about

- Hit the Christmas Markets
- Go for Christmas dinner/drinks with friends/family
- Host a Christmas party/dinner
- Christmas shopping for presents
- Watch a pantomime

I'm feeling super Christmassy recently. I've watched Home Alone, put the tree up with my friends, blasted those Christmas tunes, bought a festive jumper and been to London (as you can see from the photos above). I still have many more things to do over this month, but so far, I am loving it!

Do you do any of these things or have any traditions over December?

  1. I'm definitely feeling christmassy now as the only thing on your list I haven't done yet is go out and do something christmassy! Christmas markets are always a good idea!
