I use the term, 'resolutions' loosely. I've never been one to make New Years Resolutions, mainly because I forget them almost instantly. However, I love listening to other peoples. With this in mind, I've spent the last few days reading peoples goals and plans which inspired to set some myself this year. I mean, there's no harm in having a little hope! Plus, if I write a post on it, I have it right here in writing, so I cannot forget!
1. Continue to blog
I started this blog around June of this year. It has been something I wanted to do for ages, but for a few different reasons, I put it off. I have loved writing and I am really happy with how well it is going so far. I want it to continue to grow over the next year and continue to speak to other people with the same goals as myself. I feel like a blog is a place to share your interests and thoughts with similar minded people, and so far I am loving it.
2. Start a
This is another thing I have wanted to do for a long time. I put it off because of the awkward start where you feel like you are talking to yourself...
, I definitely want to start one in the near future. I love watching however and seeing other people's channels grow. I've decided that I can try and see how well I do, if nobody watches it, then nobody watches it! No harm done! I don't expect much to come from it, I Youtube have just always love photography, filming and creating, so it seems like another fun hobby to do alongside my blog.
3. Improve my skin
My skin isn't awful, but I still get
on my chin and have an uneven skin tone. I want to try and manage this a little better and hopefully break outs any minimise achne scarring. I think I need to continue with my skin care routine as well as work on my diet and intake of water. I have been using bio-oil and it's definitely helping, so I will 100% be continuing this into 2017.
4. Get my license / get a car
I have my intensive driving lessons booked as well as my test at the beginning of the year. I've already convinced myself that I won't pass first time (I really dislike learning to drive), so I just have the goal that I will pass at some point during the
year! I've never really been bothered by driving, but it'll help with getting to and from work as well as getting groceries... I guess I need to so ! I also need to purchase a car.. now will be a massive hit to my finances, but hopefully I'll be able to afford it during the coming year. which
5. Be happy with my body
A long, long time ago, I had
. Not the bulging, obvious type, but a toned stomach, which I very much enjoyed. However, then I started eating whatever I could see and they disappeared. I quite like the gym when I am there, however, I do not enjoy walking in the cold and dark to get there. The gym I want to join is about a 25 min walk which I am not willing to do. But hopefully, if I get a license and abs car, I will then be able to gym it a few times a week and get back in shape. I am quite naturally small, so luckily going to the gym around 3 times a week and eating well is usually enough for me to be happy with my body. That is my overall aim, to be confident and happy when I look in the mirror! There seems to be a massive stigma attached to being confident, it is far more acceptable to hate the way you look rather than to be happy with yourself, which I've never understood. I also want to be happy with the health aspect of my body. I have severe pain in my hips and lower back, which I am currently going to through the process of diagnosis for (we think it is hypermobility). This causes both pain and fatigue, so I am hoping that eating healthy and doing regular physio/fitness will help with this as it can be prett y draining at times and I'm not a fan of relying on pain killers.
6. Cut out the negativity
I love positive people. People that see
the best in situations, are my favourite kind of humans. I can't deal with constant negativity, it is depressing and draining. I don't understand what anybody gains from continuous moaning and criticising. Obviously, people have opinions, both good and bad, but there is definitely a difference between having opinions and being a negative person. I want to cut out all negativity from my life this year, whether it be people or situations etc that just don't bring any positivity to the situation. As selfish or 'airy fairy' as it may seem, my main goal for the year is just to be happy with myself and my life. Don't get me wrong, I really like my life as it is, but there's always room for improvement!
7. Finish my flat
My little flat is adorable, I am truly
greatful to be able to live in it. It definitely doesn't look 'unfinished' but there are still loads of areas of improvement within it. I want to eventually get a new sofa, coffee table and tv stand, as well as put some shelves up to display all the random bits of crap I own that serve no purpose. Of course, this needs money, so is likely to be something I do over the year piece by piece. But I definitely want to be happy with the lounge area by the end of 2017.
8. Meet some new people
As an adult, it can be awkward and difficult to make friends. It's not quite as easy as primary school, where you could literally just ask
someone whether they wanted to be your pal. I am a 'lone worker', which means I don't have a team of people I see every day. Because of this, I don't get the social aspects of work. I still am friends with people from my previous job, as well as childhood friends and university friends, but I do want to meet some new people over the next year. I'm hoping that blogging and perhaps youtubing, will help to start talking to like-minded people.
I suck at
organisation. It is not something that I am naturally good at. However, it's something that I really want to work on, as you are aware if you read my Ella Iconic planner post. I want to purchase a small diary/notebook to keep on me so that when I get blogging ideas or remember that I need to be somewhere, I can quickly jot it down. I also want to organise my belongings in the flat and have a place for everything, rather than the floor. I've definitely gotten better the older I have got, but it's an area that I still need to work on.
10. Save some
This one seems like the most difficult goal out of all 10, mainly because a few of the previously mentioned goals, require money! I still hope to be able to have started to save some money for a rainy day, as at the minute, I have no savings at all. The older I get, the more I
realise that this isn't the smartest way to go about life, and I really need to start putting some money away. I'm not expecting to be able to have loads over the next year, just because with furnishing the flat and purchasing a car, it will be difficult, however, I hope to at least make a start!
Leave me your goals below, love reading other peoples and it may prompt me to add more to my list!
Best wishes and lots of luck for 2017
