June Round-Up & July Goals

I've decided to do a round up of the month of June! I have been making some vlogs which can be found at my YouTube Channel, but I thought why not do an overall 'June Roundup' post on here as well! I will do a separate post and video on my June Favourites - so keep an eye out for that one coming in a couple days time :)

Moving House:

Okay, so not me myself moving. But, my mother and brother are now finally going to be back living down the road from me. They have been just under an hour away from me for a long time whist we tried to find a house accessible for my brother (he is disabled after an accident). His accident was in 2011 and he remained in hospital for a couple of years. When he left, they ended up renting anywhere that had a downstairs bedroom/bathroom etc, which ended up far away from me, mum's work and everyone her and my brother knew. This obviously sucked, but we wanted him out of the hospital (our original house just was not accessible at all).
However, at the beginning of this month the building work finished on the new house they purchased a while ago was completed and mother was given the keys! The house is beautifully done and Ben can roll around wherever his heart desires without furniture having to be moved or needing help to make sure he doesn't hit the door frames. He has his own en-suite with an accessible shower and bath, a kitchen which he can reach all of the appliances and double doors everywhere so he can access the garden easily and go to play with the dogs. I realise these things probably sound very simple, but he hasn't been able to do this for 5 years, so to us it is a big deal!
It's also great because the layout of this house means that me mum and Ben can get some family privacy without carers being round all the time. Don't get me wrong, we appreciate having carers, as there are a lot of people out there who need them and don't have them, however, we also do want to be somewhat of a normal family and have down time just with us.
Basically, we are all just super excited to be a little bit more of a normal family!

The moving of all the furniture starts in a couple days, so hopefully by next months post, they will all be settled in!

Heatwave:

If you live in England, you know we had a week or so of unbearable heat. Well, it was unbearable for me anyway. I am not built for heat usually, let alone when pregnant! The only good bits about it were that I purchased a big paddling pool. It was one of the most brilliant ideas I have had in a while. Obviously it'll be good for the baby when she is here and a bit older, but until then, it will be used by me and my friends! It really helped cool me down and be a little more comfortable, so if you are pregnant and another heatwave hits, I would definitely recommend purchasing one! Was great on the old swollen feet.

Blogging/Youtube:

When I found out I was pregnant, I took a step back from blogging because I was bloody shattered frankly. However, this month I have gotten back into the swing of things and even started my YouTube Channel. I always put off Youtube because it's a lot easier to receive hate on the platform and to have people in 'real life' be arseholes about it. However, I then remembered that I didn't care. Why would I stop the opinion of people that either I don't know or don't get along with, stop me from doing something I want to do? That'd make me more daft than them!
My YouTube channel will follow the same kind of themes as my blog, just maybe with more personal posts (such as days out/vlogs etc). But, I will try and link the two platforms and incorporate them with each other. You can find my Youtube channel here, if you subscribe, drop me a comment to let me know! Also let me know if you have a channel!

Love Island:

I feel like I should leave this for my favourites post, however, I will mention it as I have been obsessed with it since it started. I know there are lots of people who seem to think if you watch Love Island, you have a low IQ and don't know quality television. But frankly, I don't care. You watch watch what you want, I will watch what I want. Seriously, why are people so snobby over TV? Anyway - I am obsessed with Camilla and Montana and want to vote for them to win as a couple, even though it defeats the point of the show. As I am writing this post, they have just split the boys and girls up into different villas, s*** is about to get serious people!

July Goals:

- Go back to eating healthy:
I ate really healthy prior to pregnancy, but have only craved sugar since. This is not helping with the constant indigestion, so I'm going to have to force myself to eat better!

- Light exercise:
Obviously being 7 months pregnant, I'm not going to start hitting the gym hard and lifting super heavy weights. It's something that some women are able to do, but I constantly have very bad indigestion and fatigue, so I can't say I am for the gym at the moment. However, I do want to go back to doing some light workouts, such as yoga to strengthen my muscles.

- Start prepping for the baby:
I have no idea what babies need, but I feel like I should probably start purchasing some items over the next month! I may cave and get a couple of books as well to help with the more practical aspects of having a newborn!

- Continue to blog and create videos/content:
I want to continue as I have been with my blog and get a few more videos up over the month of July. I also want to get back to using Instagram more, but it's something that I haven't bothered with as much as the engagement is so hit and miss recently.

  10. I love your little YouTube update - "and then I remembered I didn't care"... that is such a good mentality to have! I've been tempted with the idea of starting a YouTube channel recently, but at the minute I don't have the confidence to put myself out there, so I'll definitely need to work on not caring!
