Makeup Haul & First Impressions

I haven't bought myself anything for months (apart from a vacuum and other boring items). I am trying desperately to save money, but I also ran out of basically all my makeup whilst doing so. I managed to get myself out of my overdraft so I rewarded myself with purchasing some items (...logic). Kiko had a big sale on (they're a pretty low priced brand anyway) and a £5 off for subscribing so I went a bit mad on their website. I also caved and ended up on the John Lewis website buying a couple of items from Urban Decay, two guesses what I bought? Finally, the lovely guys at Glo Minerals sent me a few of their items, so I thought I would include those within this post as well! I also got the Tarte Concealer (finally!) and a gift set, but they are taking forever to be delivered and I am impatient!

Kiko

I've not used contour sticks before, I watched it and the colour seems a good suit for me (providing I have a little bit of tan on), so I hope that it blends out well.

As you can tell from the name, this is a small bronzer, so if you are one for huge pans of bronzer, this is not for you. However, this size is great for travelling or throwing in your bag if you want to top up your glow. I really like the colour and consistency of this product going by the swatch.

I usually use powder highlighters, even though I prefer the look of liquid/cream products. I thought I would give this a go when I saw it pop up on Kiko's website. I am very happy I did after giving it a swatch, it is bloody beautiful!

This is hands down my favourite purchase from Kiko... maybe ever? You know when you do one of those swatches that makes your heart flutter? That was this product for me. Just buy this product. Go now and buy it. I want to purchase every shade that they do now.

I don't know what I thought I was purchasing when I put this in the basket, but I am not loving this. It's an eyeshadow stick but the stick is the sponge and the product is in the lid? Innovative sure, but barely any product comes out and I was just getting frustrated trying to use it. I may use it for a bit of a subtle glitter in the inner eye, just to get use out of it. You can see from the swatch above (that I attempted several times), barely any product actually comes out. I definitely won't be picking this up again in the future. Saying this, the reviews online don't seem to hate it as much as I do, so maybe I have a dodgy one.

This is a lippy that doesn't have loads of pigment to it. It is like a slightly less pigmented version of a Mac cream sheen. I found it quite hard to swatch as it blended in with the colour of my skin, but I think this could be a good one if I'm going for a light make-up look.

3 in 1 Kabuki Brush:
I love contouring. I will always love contouring whether it is 'in fashion' or not. I love using the Hoola Bronzer brush that came with their product, but I wish it was a bit bigger, so when I saw this I put it in the basket straight away. It's also very pretty to look at... The brush itself is so soft and I'm really excited to give it a whirl. I'll be annoyed if it doesn't work well, but I'll just have to use it as a vanity ornament instead (so sad, I know). I can't find it on the website to link it, so it must be out of stock already!

I've not used BB creams before, so I'm hoping that this is good for days where I don't really want to wear makeup (but my face is lighter than my body).

This is a clear gloss, I am definitely more of a cream sheen/gloss girl, rather than matte when it comes to lips. However, I own a lot of liquid lipsticks, so I thought I'd pick this up to throw over the top of my matte lippies.

Urban Decay

I caved. I have no self control and I caved. I have all the other Naked palettes so I tried to convince myself I did not need this one, but out of all the ones they have released, this one had my dream colours in. I kept trying to resist, but it was all over the internet and the swatches looked insane, so I caved. After having a look ands watching the shadows for myself, I regret nothing!

I have used this spray for so long now, this is probably by 5th bottle. I bliming love this setting spray for making my face look less powdery. This is the first bottle with the new packaging and I don't know if I'm imaging it, but is it smaller? Or does the black packaging just make it look smaller? I could be going crazy, I don't know.

Eyeshadow Palette Swatches

When I saw the colours in this palette, I didn't think it would show up dark enough on me (I like a dramatic contour), however I was pleasantly surprised. The two contour shades work great (I mix them) and I really like the shimmery highlight shade. I don't tend to use the lighter matte highlight shades within any contour kit. The shimmery highlighter however, is great for an everyday glow! I'm really happy with this kit and think I prefer it to the similar ABH one!

I tend to go towards 'warm toned' shadows, this means that within my collection, I am lacking a lot of the shades found within this little palette. This will be great just to throw in my travel bag with me to do some every day neutral eye shadow looks. Oh, and the black shadow is hands down one of the best black eyeshadows I own! Some of the shadows are more pigmented than others (like with all palettes), but overall I really like this!

I bliming love this product! It describes itself as a combination of a gloss and lipstick, which I would totally agree with. I thought I wouldn't like it as I'm more of a traditional lipstick packaging kinda girl and find that these are a nightmare when they go blunt, however, this bad boy comes with a sharpener in the lid. The product itself is a lovely nude colour that is super moisturising. I have been using it daily and it has quickly made it's way into my collection of favourite nudes!

This is a really nice cleanser. I was expected a white, cream consistency like most cleansers these days, but instead it was a clear gel. It is really refreshing to use and it took my make up off really well. I just wet my face, massaged this in for about a minute and then wiped it off with a big cotton pad. It was super quick and easy and make face felt super soft afterwards. The bottle is also massive and will last me ages, so I'm super happy with this product too!

I've never used a product like this before, so I feel like I can't give a proper 'review' of them, as I'm assuming it's something that you would use for a long period of time to notice a difference! The information said that it is used to break down oil and prevent acne causing bacteria. I have dry skin on the majority of my face, but I do get oil build up on my chin (and this is where I get spots). So, I've been using these pads just on my chin alone as I don't want to dry out my skin. It's only been a few days so I can't say too much else about this, but so far so good!

Have you tried any of these products? As I said at the start, I also picked up some Tarte products from the QVC website (did not know they did makeup!!) and I'm still waiting for them to arrive. If I like them I may write a separate post.
