Treat Yourself - A Day of Pamper

I don't know about you, but since becoming a mum, I very rarely have a nice pamper day anymore. I'm sure it's the same for a lot of people who work long hours, care for others or simply just don't have the time. However, I think it is important to take a day just for yourself when you can, to relax and de-stress - even if it is just one day a month. I thought I'd write a post of all the things I love to do for a bit of luxury.

Smelling Fabulous, Perfume & Lotions

I love a good perfume. I hate when I realise that I have gone out for the day and not spritzed myself with something fabulous. For something very luxurious, there is Clive Christian perfume. He has recently released the new Addictive Arts range which smell rich and last for ages on the skin! The range has 3 pairs of scents, and is billed as 'provocation, decadent and an expression of our human tendency to excess'. Each scent within the pair are complimentary but take on a different interpretation of the same perfume. One is deemed to have more masculine notes and the other more feminine, but neither are advertised as specifically for one gender, it is completely down to the consumer of what they prefer. This range explores hedonism with its range of high quality, natural, ingredients to create the scents. I think the most interesting thing about this range is that some of the ingredients are described as mind-enhancing, these include; wormwood, cocoa leaf and opium poppy.
If you are like me, I need a good looking bottle to display if I am going to splash the cash on perfume. This range definitely delivers in regards to this. The bottles are a deep blue glass with a silver royal crown as the lid, very glamourous. I had the chance to try the scents 'Hedonistic' and 'Ecstatic'. When I first sprayed it, it smelled very strong, but after a while the scent began to decrease to a perfect level and it stayed apparent throughout the whole day, which I loved. I get very annoyed when neither me nor anyone else can smell the perfume I am wearing after an hour or so, this is not an issue with this range at all. Both the bottle and the scents are a work of art and the level of attention to detail that has been put into them stands out a mile. If you want to read more about this range then I would definitely check out this telegraph article, which goes into what makes this perfume so different to the rest.

Another product I love to smother on myself is The Body Shop's hand and nail lotion in Almond. This stuff smells incredible and keeps your hands moisturised to perfection. I have very dry skin around my nails, which I have a tendency to pick, so I use this to try and help.

Bubble Bath

A bubble bath is probably one of my favourite past times. I am incapable of having a bath that lasts less than 30 minutes. My favourite products to use are either Lush bath bombs or my Charlotte Rhys bubble bath/salts. If I am planning on washing my hair then I tend to go for my Charlotte Rhys products.

Hair Masks

My hair is pretty damaged from going between brunette and blonde, more times than I can remember.  When I want to treat it to some luxury, I use the Bleach London Reincarnation Mask. I started to use this when it came with some of their dye's and really liked it. I then saw you can buy it separately so I purchased it straight away. I shampoo first and then leave this is on for around 5 minutes and I am left with gloriously smooth, shiny hair afterwards!

Candles & Face Masks

I love having candles lit while I have a bath. I was bought this Strawberry Mojito one for my baby shower and it smells incredible! Once this one is burnt, I am going to look into more environmentally and health friend candles. So if you know of any good brands, leave them down below! I also enjoy having a face mask on while I am in the bath so my skin feels hydrated. My current favourite for this is the Glam Glow ThirstyMud.

Tan

I don't know about you, but I do feel better with a bit of a tan. I don't go overboard with tan as I am naturally very pale so can venture onto orange pretty easily. My go to tan is definitely Bondi Sands, it is green based and never looks orange on me. It is dark enough to not require layering up for me, but if you do want to put more than one coat on, it doesn't go patchy or uneven.

What do you do on a treat yourself day?

  1. Ah this was such an enjoying post to read! Honestly theres something just so lovely about reading a pampering post. All these little things create a nice and relaxed experience and like you said, it's important to take care of yourself every once in a while (or everyday if you like too!) I haven't tried The Body Shop hand cream but I do have the L'Occitane hand cream in Almond and oh my goodness it is amazing! It just smells so nice and moisturises my hands really well, definitely a favourite of mine. Hope everything is going well with your little bundle of joy!
