Fitness Haul: Forever 21, Versa Forma & PT

I really love gym gear or 'active wear' (depending on where you are from). It's so comfortable to wear and there are a lot of designs out there now. Since having a baby, I have been going to the gym and taking it more seriously in order to get back to a body that I'm confident with. I mean, don't get me wrong, it's insane what my body did - it still blows my mind that I grew a person, but I also want to be aesthetically confident in my body. I am planning on doing a postpartum fitness update soon where I will go into more detail!

So, as the title says, I am bringing you a fitness haul!

Forever 21:

I bought these grey knit leggings which are beyond comfortable. I wasn't expecting too much from them as obviously Forever 21 is not a fitness brand, but I am really impressed by how nice these feel to wear! I purchased these in the London store, but didn't have a lot of time to look around. However, now I know my size (small), I will definitely be ordering some more from the website!

Versa Forma:

This is the first time I have purchased anything from this brand before and I have to say I am pretty impressed. However, I did purchase these items during a sale where everything was 15% off! Oh and it appears to have continuously free shipping world wide, which is awesome!

First off I bought this black sports bra. This is super supportive and I can jump up and down without causing any black eyes. However, I bought this is small (which fits my frame), but as I have 32DD boobs, it is a bit of a squish to get them in comfortably. It isn't the cheapest sports bra in the world but I am happy with it. However, the phone slot at the back of the bra does not fit my phone in which is annoying!

The second item I purchased is the exclusive black leggings. I like these because they are full length (for these chilly months) but have the cut out details to make them a bit different to just plain black leggings. They fit the length of my leg well (which is good for me as I have long legs, usually getting 34" jeans from Topshop) as well as around my waist. I also got these in a size small! Again, I bought these with a discount so they were slightly cheaper, which is always good.

The final peice of clothing I got was yet another pair of leggings. These are the three quarter marble capri's. At first I thought you could see through these, then I realised the material underneath was white and I was being an idiot. Again these are super comfy and great quality. They are a little too big around my stomach area, which is weird as I bought them in the same size as the exclusive leggings.

Argos:

I got these a while ago, but I thought I would include them as I've only started using them recently, for when I do a work out at home. These are the Opti Neoprene Dumbbells. I bought them in two different weights as there was a buy one get one half price offer on. These a great for just storing away in a cupboard, without taking up loads of room! They're handy for at home work outs for adding in a little weight set.

Personal Training:

Finally, the last (but most expensive) 'thing' I purchased to help me with my fitness goals, is a personal trainer! I actually really like the gym, but I do feel intimidated by the machines/weights and some of the people who are in the gym. You know the ones, very little clothing and walking around like they are fitness kings or queens. My gym has a pool, sauna, hot tub and a very large gym area, as well as classes. It's definitely a really nice gym (even if they do owe me two months worth of money!!). So, I enquired whether they had a postpartum trainer available to help me get back to the gym and to do it safely, which they did! I booked in 4 sessions with a lovely guy called Alex who has really helped with my fitness confidence. I am now a lot more comfortable using machines as I know what I am doing! As I am on maternity leave, I have 0 money, therefore I can't afford to keep having sessions. But, Alex has been awesome and made me a plan using all the machines/exercises that we have gone through, so that I am able to do so on my own. I have my final session with him this weekend, and although he has almost killed me a couple times, I would highly recommend looking into personal training sessions as they really help! Especially if your fitness level is at zero like my was.

Where do you like to get your gym wear from? Keep your eye pealed for my 3month PP fitness update which is coming soon.

  1. I am such a sucker for good active wear - I see Versa Forma advertised all the time so I think I may check it out.

Glad the PT helped with your gym-confidence! I often get nervous in the gym too, particularly around huge men that act like they own the weights area... but I'm working on it!

    1. Same! I'm always like I DO NOT NEED THIS, but then I cave and buy more! PT definitely helped, I don't feel like I'm going to be judged so much now!

  2. This has come at the perfect time for me as although I've been going to the gym for a while now, I like to start the new year with new kit and I didn't actually get any for Christmas. I'm definitely eyeing up the Marble Capri!

    Ps. You look absoloutely incredible!
